I love flowers. Flower fields, flower farms, flower festivals. Years ago, my parents took my sister and I to this tulip festival in Washington. I remember running on the marked paths between the rows of tulips, and each row was a different colour. It’s such a beautiful and colourful memory.
Last summer, we switched things up a bit and visited a sunflower festival. It was equal parts beautiful and terrifying, because those plants can grow tall. Some had huge faces and loomed over us, but many of them were turned towards the sun.
Fast-forward to this summer, just a few days ago, where we decided to switch things up again! My family and I swung by a lovely little Lavender Farm and it was such a pretty sight.
The lavender fields are only open at a certain time of the year, and our spontaneous visit was on one of its last few days for this year! There is a small shop by the field that is open by appointment where visitors can purchase some very cute – and very pleasant smelling – lavender bundles. We bought one bundle and divided them amongst ourselves. My room has never smelled so good.
This lavender farm is a hidden gem in our area. The day we went was cloudy and cool, but it didn’t take away from our enjoyment. The lavenders were plentiful, bright and in full bloom. Definitely looking forward to future visits (I also need to restock the lavender bundle in my room haha!).
